How do I find an article on a topic?

Do a keyword search in one or more of the library's . Your subject librarian or may recommend specialized resources to find articles in specific subject areas.

How do I find the full-text of an article?

Look for links that read "PDF Full-text", "HTML Full-Text" or look for the findit.png button to get a copy of the whole article.

How do I find an article when I have the citation (have the author, title, volume, page numbers)?

  1. Start by using the Journals the Library Has page to search for a journal title.
  2. The result list will show you the dates available in electronic and print format.
  3. Clicking the journal title will take you to that journal within a database.
  4. Print journals are usually shelved on the first floor of Thomas Library in alphabetical order by journal title.

What if I can't find a copy of the article I need?

Ask us! Including the citation information in your message is helpful. Or if you are certain Thomas Library does not have access to the article in print or electronic format, fill out an Inter-library Loan (ILL) article request and we will ask another library for a copy. ILL request can take up to 14 days. If we receive an electronic copy, the item will be sent to your Wittenberg email address. If we receive a print copy, we send it to your campus mail box. Contact 937-327-7511 to check the status of your request.
