六合彩网上投注app is partnering with Springfield City Schools for the鈥10th鈥痽ear in a row鈥痶o host the鈥疢artin Luther King Jr. Day of Service 2020 on Saturday, Feb.鈥1, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Joseph C. Shouvlin Center for Lifelong Learning, 737 N. Fountain Ave. in Springfield.
The MLK Jr. Day of Service was organized by Wittenberg's Community Service Program in the Susan Hirt Hagen Center for Civic and Urban Engagement as part of the national Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, a federal holiday set aside to honor the memory of King through service.
Approximately 30 students attending Hayward and Roosevelt middle schools will participate in a day of activities led by Wittenberg students that are focused on Martin Luther King Jr.'s message of advocacy. The participants will be involved in games and artistic and educational activities throughout the day.
Organized by community service coordinators Kenzie Hill 鈥20 and Caroline Warner 鈥20, this year鈥檚 theme is service highlighting the profound words of Martin Luther King Jr.鈥檚 quote, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is, what are we doing for others?" Warner, from Columbus, Ohio, is an exercise science major. Hill, from Zanesville, Ohio, is a political science and communication double major.
鈥淢iddle school students will be spending the day focused on how to recognize issues in their societies and how they can utilize their skillsets to address their concerns,鈥 Hill said. 鈥淲e hope this day will begin the conversation about being advocates for their communities and inspire them to take action. We are excited to be connecting the students with Wittenberg again this year!鈥
