Annual Leadership Awards Announced

Wittenberg鈥檚 Office of Student Involvement Recognizes Students, Faculty and Staff

Springfield, Ohio 鈥 Celebrating individuals, organizations and events that impacted the campus community in a positive way throughout the 2019-20 academic year, the 10th annual Student Leadership Awards, hosted by Wittenberg鈥檚 Office of Student Involvement, were recently announced online.

From honoring student organizations and advisors of the year; to celebrating diversity, health and wellness, and contributions to spiritual life; to recognizing unsung heroes, the 10th annual Student Leadership Awards celebrated the value of learning outside of the classroom through student organizations, leadership roles, and creating social change on campus and in the community.

The following is a list of this year鈥檚 winners:

Announced on Friday, May 8

  • Club Sport and Recreation Organization of the Year: Club Volleyball
  • Social Justice Leader of the Year: Asharee Jones 鈥20
  • Emerging Leader of the Year: Morgan White 鈥23
  • Richard R. Scott Outstanding Faculty/Staff Supporter: Joshua Moore

Announced on Thursday, May 7

  • Contributions to Religious and Spiritual Life: Chelby Dye 鈥20
  • Student Supporter of the Year: Joshua Moore, assistant dean of diversity & inclusion
  • Greek Chapter of Excellence: Alpha Delta Pi

Announced on Wednesday, May 6

  • Organization of the Year: Student Athlete Advisory Committee
  • Wittenberg Woman of the Year: Karen Gerboth, vice president of marketing & communications
  • Most Improved Chapter of the Year: Lambda Chi Alpha

  • New Organization of the Year: 4Paws
  • Student Organization Advisor of the Year: Elizabeth Guyer (4Paws), assistant director of admission
  • Greek Leader of the Year: Kayla Cull 鈥20, Alpha Xi Delta
