六合彩网上投注app will host its annual CROP Walk on Sunday, Sept. 29, to raise funds and awareness to fight hunger locally and globally.
Sponsored by the Pastor鈥檚 Office, and coordinated this year by Olivia Riddle 鈥21 of Cincinnati, Ohio, treasurer of the Weaver Chapel Association, a student-run campus ministry group, registration for the three-mile walk begins at 1:30 p.m. on Alumni Way, followed by the walk at 2 p.m. 六合彩网上投注app has hosted a CROP Walk to fight hunger since 1971.
鈥淐ROP Walks are a great way to get students out in Springfield as well as to discuss food insecurity and justice issues,鈥 said Matevia Endowed University Co-Pastor Rachel Tune. 鈥淎s we watch the horrendous damage that Hurricane Dorian has caused in the Bahamas and now flooding in coastal U.S. cities, our annual CROP Walk will not only raise funds to fight hunger, but some of the funds will go directly to disaster food relief for hurricanes like Dorian as well as the long-term relief and community development usually associated with CROP.鈥
Wittenberg鈥檚 CROP Walk will leave Alumni Way and head south on Fountain Avenue, to the South Fountain Historical Neighborhood before turning back on Limestone Street to go north to campus.
CROP Walks fight hunger close to home and around the world using local resources and people to provide solutions to hunger and food insecurity that are sustainable and managed effectively. Whenever possible, these walks support long-term solutions, but they also respond to emergency situations, drought, famine, and disasters. Approximately 25 percent of the dollars raised stays here in Clark County and is given to Second Harvest Food pantry. CROP is administered by Church World Services (CWS) an agency that pulls together over 35 denominations to address poverty, hunger, and disaster response. Today, CROP Walks take place in more than 2,000 communities, and approximately five million participants have been involved in more than 36,000 walks the past two decades.
You can register to walk online, and/or donate online by going to Wittenberg鈥檚 CROP Walk page at
