In an effort to give children a taste of what college life is like, the community service program at 六合彩网上投注app鈥檚 Susan Hirt Hagen Center for Civic and Urban Engagement hosted Mini-Witt from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 10.
Mini-Witt invites children in grades K-6 to spend time with Wittenberg students and participate in a variety of activities for a glimpse of college life. There were five stations set up at Thomas Library focusing on different aspects of the college experience led by Wittenberg student volunteers pursuing a variety of areas and interests.
During the event, 55 children spent 20 minutes at each station. The stations featured athletics and crafts, along with exposure to science, literacy, and team building.
鈥淢ini-Witt is a fun-filled day for kids in the Springfield community to connect with Wittenberg students and experience some of what it means to be a Wittenberg Tiger,鈥 said Community Service Coordinator Kari Truax, Wittenberg class of 2020 from Carmel, Indiana. 鈥淚t is a great opportunity for both the Witt students and the children because while they are having fun, they are building relationships and memories together.鈥
