Ensuring that students always feel at home is a priority at Wittenberg, and Thanksgiving is no exception. This year, for those students without Thanksgiving plans, local community partner Bada Bing Pizza is opening its doors Thanksgiving Day from 3 to 5 p.m. for Wittenberg students and local community members to celebrate the season of thanks together.
鈥淲e are deeply grateful that Bada Bing, its owner, and staff, are willing to take time away from their own families this holiday to provide this gathering for not just our students but other community members,鈥 said Jon Duraj, interim dean of students. 鈥淪pringfield is full of tremendous community partners and this is a wonderful example of the care and support for one another found in this community.鈥
鈥淥wner Doug Klang insisted on doing this to help Wittenberg students and the Springfield community,鈥 added Sherri Sadowski, associate dean for residence life at Wittenberg. 鈥淗e has been great to work with and has pulled this together so quickly.鈥
Wittenberg鈥檚 Office of Residence Life has traditionally coordinated a Thanksgiving meal and community gathering option for students staying over break. Other students interested in the gathering should email Sherri Sadowski, Emma Carnicom or Angie Kettler at housing@wittenberg.edu.
