Wittenberg is excited to announce that the 2021-22 fundraising year was one of the most successful in modern times. With the fiscal year ending on June 30, 2022, Wittenberg鈥檚 total giving to the University was $14,719,090.83, the highest on record in recent history. This includes pledges, planned gifts, and cash gifts.
Helping to Transform
President Michael L. Frandsen, Ph.D., is currently serving on the advisory group of the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges, where he and his colleagues are working on a collaborative project examining the board鈥檚 role in overseeing institutional business models.
Welcome Aboard
The Reverend Tracy Paschke-Johannes, chaplain with Hospice of Cincinnati and currently serving Epiphany Lutheran Church in Dayton, Ohio, for spiritual care needs, has been named the Rev. David and Carol Matevia Endowed University Pastor.
Amanda McLellan, assistant director for discovery and technology at East Carolina University, in Greenville, North Carolina, recently began her new role as director of Wittenberg鈥檚 Thomas Library, which continues to transform into an academic learning commons.
Hall of Honor Class of 2022
Matt Borland 鈥09, Amy Cox 鈥11, Linda Iantuono Finn 鈥96, Paco Labrador, Ryan Taylor 鈥01, Eddie Vallery 鈥11, and John Paoloni 鈥74 will officially join nearly 300 other Wittenberg greats who have previously been inducted into the University's Athletics Hall of Honor. In addition, Pat O鈥機onner 鈥80 becomes the eighth recipient of the Athletics Hall of Honor Lifetime Achievement Award, and two 鈥淭eams of Distinction鈥 will be celebrated, the 1964 and 1969 Tiger football teams.
Excellence in Liberal Arts

Alumni Serving Wittenberg
The Alumni Association Board, which works to support the University鈥檚 mission and values and encourages alumni engagement in the life of the institution, recently welcomed four new members: Ron Baumanis 鈥80, Kari Johnston 鈥05, Callan Swaim 鈥16, and Justin Dilley '21.

Mike De Massimo 鈥99, with the support of his spouse, Bethany Schlater '04, has turned his family鈥檚 homemade Italian sauces into a successful entrepreneurial venture, De Massimo鈥檚 Authentic Sauces and Imports, located in Columbus, Ohio.
Music teacher and professional harpist Miriam Weber Brown 鈥68 was named the 2022 Ohio Nationally Certified Music Teacher of the Year by the Ohio Music Teachers Association.
