Countdown to Homecoming
We look forward to seeing you back on campus as we welcome alumni and families to celebrate Homecoming, Reunion, and Family Weekend 2022, Sept. 30 - Oct. 2! Festivities include the Homecoming Kickoff event on Friday evening, athletics competitions throughout the weekend, live music, campus tours, special 50th- and 60th-anniversary recognition for the classes of 1972 and 1962, and more! Tiger Tailgate 2022
A cherished tradition, the Tiger Tailgate will continue to reinvigorate Homecoming with live entertainment on Saturday, Oct. 1. All alumni and friends are welcome to participate in the festival-style atmosphere throughout the heart of campus. Enjoy live music with Witt FREE and The Weekend Effect, libations from Founder's Outpost, and classic and awesome pizza from local food truck Raging Bull Wood Fired Pizza. Alumni Achievement Award Winners
Celebrating alumni excellence is one of the many traditions during Wittenberg鈥檚 Homecoming, Reunion, and Family Weekend. This year, the University鈥檚 Alumni Association Board will honor nine individuals with special distinctions during a ceremony from 6 to 9 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 1, in room 105 of the Joseph C. Shouvlin Center for Lifelong Learning.
Welcome to Class of 2026
Academically prepared, experienced in flexible learning formats, and ready to start a new chapter in their lives, 430 new students, the class of 2026, arrived on campus for Welcome Week, Aug. 25-28. The newest Tigers spent the days acclimating to college life through a range of special programming prior to the official start of classes on Aug. 29.
Distinguished Teacher
Professor and Chair of Education Sally Brannan gave the keynote address at the annual Opening Convocation, the traditional kick-off of the new academic year. Recipient of the 2022 Alumni Association Distinguished Teaching Award, Brannan presented 鈥淟esson Plan for Being a Lifelong Learner.鈥
New Academic Partnership
Thanks to a new partnership with Rize Education, Wittenberg is now enrolling for new majors and minors in the newly renamed department of business and economics, as well as other new concentrations aimed at providing students with expertise in high-growth skill areas starting in the Fall 2022 semester.
New Name and New Director
Looking for the optimal combination of experience, skill, and interest to lead the newly named Margaret Ermarth Institute for the Public Humanities, Wittenberg recently announced that Christian Raffensperger, professor and chair of history, will assume the exciting new role.
Name, Image and Tiger Likeness
The Department of Athletics at Wittenberg, in conjunction with INFCLR, has launched a new platform named Tiger Up Exchange, a partnership created to assist collegiate student-athletes and businesses in developing Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) agreements.
Student Loan Forgiveness
On Aug. 24, 2022, President Biden announced the Federal Student Loan Forgiveness program which will forgive up to $10,000 for most student loan borrowers. At this time, many details on how to apply, when to apply, and who is truly eligible are still being finalized. Your best resource to learn more about the loan forgiveness program is to review the information as it is being released via , the U.S. Department of Education's website. As details are finalized, the U.S. Department of Education will release statements via social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), news releases via studentaid.gov, and other public venues.
