Isles of Inspiration

The paintings of Hannah McCartney 鈥�18 will be exhibited from May 4-28 at the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center鈥檚 Art Studio, 301 W. Main Street, Troy, Ohio. Titled Isle of Inspirations, the exhibition is part of the Senior Painting Series. The exhibit and reception, which will offer refreshments, are free and open to the public.

鈥淎provecha." This is a word that I heard almost constantly when I studied abroad in Sevilla, Spain, this past semester. It translates directly as 鈥渢ake advantage,鈥� but really is a command to 鈥渟eize the day.鈥� The Sevillanos use it in almost every context; you buy a coffee and the waitress says 鈥渁provecha鈥� instead of the typical 鈥渁dios.鈥�

Making A Difference In Malaysia

Picture this: You鈥檙e carpooling with your housemate to work in the early morning. You look to your left to watch the sun rising lazily over the South China Sea; the light is just peeking over the top of Kapas Island, a little offshore. It鈥檚 a nice view, you couldn鈥檛 argue that. But it鈥檚 still not quite the same as the one you鈥檒l have from the front of the classroom 鈥� it definitely won鈥檛 wake you up like the synchronized 鈥済ood morning鈥� you鈥檒l get from your students.

Late Night Fun

Halfway through the semester of Fall 2017, the Associate Director of Student Involvement Kevin Carey took the initiative and formed the Witt Late Night Student Advisory Team, consisting of student leaders from various organizations on campus, as well as staff members from the Office of Student Involvement.
